Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2026, carrying on the organization, promotion and communication of the sporting and cultural events related to the next Winter Games.

Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first large-scale Olympics in history: 9 Olympic venues, 21 provincial capitals, 2,300 municipalities directly involved, over an area of 22,000 square km.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee has been established in 2019 with the purpose of organizing Olympic and Paralympic Games in compliance with the Host City Contract signed jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the two cities of Milano and Cortina and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).

Furthermore, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen are all partners in this major national-level project, with the support of the Italian Government.

Position

The Translation Manager supports the Editorial Services (ES) team of Milano Cortina 2026 by coordinating and managing translation projects, ensuring high-quality linguistic deliverables, and maintaining efficient workflows.


Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between the Milano Cortina 2026 Functional Areas (FAs) and the appointed external translation agency, monitoring performance to ensure high-quality deliverables;
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise translation processes, workflows, and quality assurance measures;
  • Coordinate translation projects on the basis of each FA’s requirements, setting priorities and ensuring deadlines are met;
  • Review translated content for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines;
  • Translate urgent/last-minute text in-house, mainly Italian to English and vice-versa, possible additional languages (French and German);
  • Management of translations for a total of over 3 million words.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in languages, linguistics, translation, or a related field;
  • Excellent command of English and Italian;
  • Proven experience in translation project management or a similar role;
  • Proficiency in the use of CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools;
  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for linguistic accuracy and consistency;
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines;
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to handling challenges.

Nice to have:


  • Knowledge of French and German;
  • Experience in sport events, preferably Olympic and Paralympic Games.
