Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2026, carrying on the organization, promotion and communication of the sporting and cultural events related to the next Winter Games.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee has been established in 2019 with the purpose of organizing Olympic and Paralympic Games in compliance with the Host City Contract signed jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the two cities of Milano and Cortina and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).

Furthermore, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen are all partners in this major national-level project, with the support of the Italian Government.

Position

Event Services is the Functional Area, within the Organizing Committee for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, that is in charge to plan, design and provide a safe and welcoming visit to all ticketed spectators at the official competition venues, and other services to accredited stakeholders.


The EVS Staffing Manager will be in charge of sourcing and organizing the EVS Staff within the Milano Cortina 2026 Team and finding efficiencies in terms of numbers, roles and shift planning.


He/she will work with Full Time Staff, Games Time Temporary Paid Staff, and Volunteers.

This role will work very closely with the Milano Cortina 2026 Workforce Planning Team and HR Team of the Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee in order to align the Team Staffing plan and hiring process with the overall plan of the Organizing Committee. There will also be a close cooperation with the Volunteers Department in recruiting, selecting and train the Functional Area volunteers.


He/She will be involved in the following activities:

  • Writing Job descriptions for the different roles in coordination with the Head of EVS and the Senior Management Team;
  • Supporting with sourcing staff by either collaborating with the Organizing Committee HR Department or scouting through other agreed channels;
  • Assisting and managing the Functional Area new hires onboarding process;
  • Be the main liaison with the Central MC2026 HR Team and Workforce Planning Team for all HR and staffing related matters;
  • Working in close collaboration with the Volunteers department to define the Event Services needs and allocation of Volunteers;
  • Working alongside the Volunteers department for the volunteer selection and allocation process;
  • Creating guidelines for efficient Venue Team Staff planning and guiding the EVS planners in defining the strategies for the definition of their headcount venue by venue;
  • Supporting and organizing periodical internal and general Organizing Committee staffing reviews;
  • Finding operational efficiencies in terms of numbers and allocation of Volunteers within the EVS Teams on a cluster basis;
  • Providing operational guidance and escalation to staffing coordinators and EVS planners.

As the planning phase evolves, the EVS Staffing Manager will be responsible for monitoring the Venue Staffing Plans to guarantee consistency, efficiencies and EVS standards of planning across all venues.


Some of the other main tasks that the EVS Staffing Manager will be asked to take on, are as follows:

  • Write EVS Staffing Policies and Procedures;
  • Assist with Staffing issues resolution management and escalation where needed;
  • Support with Volunteers training planning and operations;
  • EVS Workforce integration within the Organizing Committee;
  • Monitor and align EVS and Organizing Committee Master Schedule tasks related to Staffing;
  • Participate to regular EVS meetings and attend Organizing Committee meetings where/when needed.

The EVS Staffing Manager Games Time role might be a roaming role, in order to support venue operations where mostly needed and provide guidance, or it might be based at the Functional Command Centre based on main EVS operational needs.

Other duties and responsibilities might be assigned as needed.

Requirements

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Proven experience in Staffing and Workforce Planning ideally in an Olympic or other major Sporting Event;
  • Strong Organizational skills;
  • Resources prioritization;
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships within the larger team of the Organizing Committee;
  • Ability to find efficiencies and opportunities in challenging environments;
  • Flexibility and adaptability to ever changing environments;
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken is required;
  • Highly detail oriented;
  • Ability to understand the overall operational impact of EVS (and others’) decisions;
  • Ability to maintain grace under pressure;
  • Negotiation and diplomacy skills.
